SHAUN LIGHTFOOT
Shaun completed his Articles of Clerkship to become a practising lawyer at Coghlan, Welsh and Guest, Harare. In 2002, Shaun resigned from that firm to take up work in the corporate field as legal advisor for Pioneer Transport Limited, now Pioneer Africa Limited. He was the lead force behind the reverse listing of Pioneer Transport into Clan Transport Limited making the new company the only listed and largest transport company in Zimbabwe.
Shaun was instrumental in the acquisition of the successful Scania franchise (Scanlink) on behalf of the same shareholders of the Pioneer Group. He left Pioneer to become a shareholder in a trading and horticultural operation.
Shaun sat on the board of indigenous banking group Premier Finance Group Limited in Zimbabwe for six years from its inception as a discount house to its graduation as a fully-fledged merchant bank.
In recent years Shaun has been involved in the Zimbabwean mining industry, exporting lumpy and concentrated chromium to China, and has interests in gold, tantalite, manganese, tin and titanium. He has structured several mining related investments in the two years, for local and foreign investors.
